    Edo billionaire, Cpt Hosa Okunbo dies of pancreatic cancer in London

    Nigerian billionaire, Captain Idahosa (Hosa) Wells Okunbo has died of pancreatic cancer in London.

    Okubo, a pilot by profession battled with cancer for over a year before his demise.

    The 63-year-old philantrophist had moved to the United Kingdom for treatment after the diagnosis. Doctors had predicted that he would live for just nine months but he managed to survive for 12 months before he passed on.

    The Edo-born billionaire, popularly called Cappy, was born January 7, 1958. He attended Government Primary School, Benin City, Edo State; Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State; Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, Zaria, Kaduna State, and ACME School of Aeronautics, Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

    Aged 30 in 1988, and having logged over 7,000 hours of flight time, Okunbo retired and went into private business.

    His business interests span agro-allied, petroleum, telecommunications, power, real estate and the banking sectors.

    Some of his firms are Hoslyn Ventures Nigeria Ltd., CMES-OMS Petroleum Development Company, Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Wells San-Carlos Agro Farms Ltd and Ocean Marine Security Ltd.

    Others are Westminster Security Solutions Nigeria Ltd., Wells Group of Companies, and Wells Entertainments Ltd.

    He is survived by his wife, Nosa and eleven children
