The National Population Commission (NPC) has postponed the census training for enumerators and supervisors that was scheduled for April 13 indefinitely.
Chairman of the Census Committee, Dr Ipalibo Harry, addressed media in Abuja on Wednesday.
Harry promised that the delay would have no effect on the Population and Housing enumeration, which was planned to take place from May 3 to May 7.
He said that the commission was prepared to conduct a legitimate census and that training for quality data managers and others had already been completed.
The enumeration committee chairman said that a new date for enumerator and supervisor training will be notified as soon as feasible.
We assure Nigerians that the Commission is dedicated to delivering a legitimate and acceptable 2023 Population and Housing enumeration, and that all preparations are in high gear, according to a press release signed by the director of public relations, Isiaka Yahaya, on Twitter.
As a result, we encourage the general public to dismiss any statement that contradicts this information. We apologise for any trouble this delay has caused the functionaries.
