No fewer than 40 people are reportedly trapped under the rubble of a collapsed-story building in Sabon Lugbe, a suburban community in Abuja.
According to sources, the collapse occurred in the evening on Saturday, as the victims remained under the rubble.
Several videos posted on social media, particularly X, show neighbours struggling to rescue trapped victims from the rubble of the collapsed building.
It was unclear whether emergency services were present at the scene to assist in the rescue efforts at the time of filing this report.
The Head of Public Affairs of the FCT Emergency Management Department, Nkechi Isa, was unreachable despite several attempts to get her comment on the incident.
