    Buhari travelling to UK Tuesday to see his doctor

    President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria will be leaving for the UK on a four-day medical visit

    President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed that he will be travelling to the United Kingdom on Tuesday to see his doctor at his request.

    Buhari who wrote on his personal Twitter account did not disclose reasons why his doctor asked him to visit.



    “I will be traveling to the United Kingdom tomorrow, to see my doctor, at his request. Will be away for four days; back in Abuja on Saturday, May 12,” he tweeted.

    Buhari, 75, spent substantial part of 2017 in London receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

    Explaining further, the Presidency said Buhari is expected to visit Jigawa when he returns. “Pres Buhari will tomorrow, Tuesday undertake a four-day trip to the United Kingdom, to see his doctor.

    “He will return Sat, May 12th. On his return, the President’s two-day state visit to Jigawa, which was postponed because of the APC ward congresses, will now take place 14th & 15th May.”

    The Presidency @NGRPresident has issued a statement to this effect. I look forward to my 2-day State Visit to Jigawa State on Monday and Tuesday next week, after my return.

    Buhari also tweeted about his meeting with the Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

    “This afternoon, on my return from Daura, I met with the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, at the State House. I briefed them on my recent trip to the US to meet with President Trump, and we also discussed the 2018 budget.”
