No fewer than six persons have been reportedly killed and 26 abducted by bandits who attacked Sabon Gida Libere, Ungwan Ganye, Ungwan Nabara, and Kadi communities of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to reports, the bandits stormed the villages in separate attacks and unleashed terror on the residents, killing six persons and abducting 26 people.

A resident of the community, Aminu Khalid, told our correspondent on Wednesday that the bandits invaded Sabon Gida Libere on Monday, killing one person and abducting 23 people, while three people were killed at Ungwan Nabara.

Khalid mentioned that the communities were yet to establish contact with the terrorists, stressing that many villages are deserted because of constant attacks.

“The terrorists have their camp close to the Libere community called the’Agwala forest’ on top of a hill.

“Most communities are deserted, and those in the surrounding villages could not access their farmlands.

“Government and the military must clear the bush where these terrorists are taking their refuge to restore the confidence of the surrounding communities,” he said.

At the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, had yet to comment on the attack.
