An innocent concert moment has spiralled into a viral scandal after Andy Bryon, CEO of US tech firm Astronomer, was caught on the Coldplay kiss cam not with his wife, but with his company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot.
The now-viral clip from Wednesday night’s show at Gillette Stadium, Massachusetts, shows the pair swaying together, arms wrapped around each other, before being beamed onto the jumbotron.
Things turned awkward fast. As Coldplay frontman Chris Martin encouraged a smooch, Cabot quickly turned her face away while Bryon ducked out of the frame. The band’s frontman joked: “Oh what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
Social media wasn’t shy. Within hours, online sleuths identified the duo, pointing out that Bryon is married while some reports revealed that Cabot had quietly finalised a divorce from husband Kenneth Thornby in 2022.
The backlash was swift. Bryon’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Bryon, was inundated with Facebook comments.
By Thursday morning, she had removed her surname from her profile and then deleted her account entirely. Her page had previously featured family photos, which have now vanished.
Neither Bryon nor Cabot of Astronomer has responded to the viral speculation.
