    Army eliminates four terrorists, rescue kidnap victims

    Troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Yobe and Borno states killed no fewer than four terrorists.

    The two terrorists killed in Yobe were among those operating a tax collection point at Ngazargamu area in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

    Troops who were acting on intelligence attacked the terrorists, leading to the death of the terrorists.

    In a post on Friday on X, the Nigerian Army said weapons were equally recovered from the terrorists.

    It partly read, “In Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, troops acting on verified intelligence launched an assault on Boko Haram terrorists operating a tax collection point in Ngazargamu area. In the ensuing firefight, troops eliminated two terrorists and recovered a haul of weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, 19 rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, five rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, two extra AK-47 rifle magazines and three mobile phones.

    “Similarly, in Borno State, along the Gamboru-Logomane road, troops ambushed ISWAP fighters, killing two terrorists. The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles and sundry items at the scene.”

    In the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, the Nigerian Army said troops rescued no fewer than four kidnapped victims.

    “In a separate mission, troops deployed to Gaube Village responded to a kidnapping incident in Dafara Village, Kuje Area Council. The troops promptly intervened, engaged the assailants, and successfully extricated four abductees,” the post added.

    In another two separate operations, the Army said a total of four bandits arm suppliers were arrested in Plateau State.

    “On October 17, 2024, working alongside other security agencies, troops trailed and arrested a female firearms courier and her accomplice at Barikin Ladi Motor Park in Plateau State. Intelligence had revealed that this gun-running syndicate was smuggling arms from Plateau to terrorists in Zamfara State. The operation led to the arrest of Mrs. Fidausu Hassan and Mr. Sani Isah Musa, from whom the troops recovered 505 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.

    “In another decisive operation, troops raided the residence of a known terrorist in Ambakka village, located at the Plateau-Nasarawa border. The operation resulted in the arrest of Alhaji Adamu Bajara, a wanted person on multiple security watchlists. Three AK-47 rifles and two rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition were recovered from his residence while the troops continued to pursue his accomplices.

    “The troops also responded swiftly to a report of cattle rustling in Mile 8, Pankshin Local Government Area, recovering 46 stolen livestock after overpowering the criminals in the encounter,” the post stated.
