The APC Mandate Defenders (APCMD) criticised the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its “scathing and irresponsible statement” against the Federal Government over the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Friday by the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr. Ifeanyi Emeka, APCMD said PDP has displayed the highest form of irresponsibility and insensitivity towards the plight of Nigerians over the emergency outbreak.

The group noted that instead of joining hands with the Federal Government to contain the spread of the disease, the PDP in it’s characteristic manner choose to play dirty politics with the outbreak thereby stoking unreasonable fear among Nigerians who are in dire need of advice and guidance.

PDP has proved that it understands nothing other than blame game even in times of national emergency.

It’s a clear evidence that the party lacks thinking ability on how to overcome national emergency.

The group urged Nigerians to disregard the party as it has once again failed to use this very opportunity to redeem it’s image as a party that destroyed the country and held Nigerians hostage for 16 good years.

The group however commended the efforts of the Federal Government in raising awareness about the disease as well as the serious attention it has given to the Italian who brought the disease in to the country.

The group urged Nigerians to follow the official channels of communication made available by the Federal Government for update about the disease and ignore the disinformation machinery of the PDP and it’s media partners.

Finally, the group advised Nigerians to call the following emergency number, 080097000010 for further direction and guidance.
