Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari has called for the continous detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indegenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
In a statement on his X page on Sunday, Ahmad called those seeking for Kanu’s release ”enemies of the state.”
He described the detained IPOB leader as a ”terrorist” who should remain behind bars.
”Anybody advocating for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, a terrorist and the leader of the proscribed terrorist organisation IPOB, should be considered a sworn enemy of this country,” Ahmad stated.
He has been detained in DSS custody since June 2021, after he was arrested in Kenya. Since his arrest, he has been facing terrorism-related charges levelled against him by the government.
