Another explosion happened at a pipeline manifold on Tuesday in the Omwawriwa axis of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State.
This comes just hours after a similar explosion rocked the Shell-operated Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area.
The most recent incident apparently occurred at a manifold linking a government pipeline deep within the forest.
The pipeline distributes crude oil to Brass, Bayelsa State.
While the explosion has not been officially confirmed, neighbourhood members reported seeing tremendous flames and thick smoke coming from an oil installation in the forest.
Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, stated that the command will investigate the incident but has yet to answer as of the time of submitting this article.

In a related event, Ijaw youths protested on Tuesday by blocking the Ahoada axis of the East-West Road heading to Bayelsa State.
Over 100 demonstrators carried placards in support of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid his political battle with the state House of Assembly.
Some of the placards read: “We demand Wike’s sack as FCT Minister” and “Martin Amaewhule and 26 lawmakers have defected and lost their seats.”
