Senator Shehu Sani has described the United States of America as a powerful nation that cannot solve its domestic problems.
In a statement on X on Sunday, the former Kaduna Central Senator berated the US for spending trillions on wars while its citizens languish in poverty.
Sani opined that ”the vulnerability and weaknesses of the great country become more apparent” during floods, fires, disasters, and pandemics.
”America has a lot of money to use for other things around the world, but most times doesn’t have enough money to take care of its domestic problems,” he said.
”Whenever disasters like floods, fires, pandemics, or hurricanes happen, the vulnerability and weaknesses of the great country become more apparent,” Sani added.
Sani condemned the widespread gun violence and crime in the US while the country ”funds wars abroad.”
”Trillions for funding wars abroad while the country grapples with the problems of gun violence, poverty, and crime is not wise,” Sani stated.
He also mentioned that it is on this premise that Americans voted Donald Trump, who has been vociferous about stopping the funding of external wars.
Trump, during the 2024 presidential election in the US, defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the keenly contested election.
Trump has made open his intentions to stop funding wars and bring about a more peaceful approach to ending the war betweetnUkraine and Russia.
Speaking on this premise, Sani said, ”The people of America have their strong reasons for voting for their Trump who pointed this out during the campaigns.”
