Comrade Deji Adeyanju has demanded that a thorough investigation be carried ou to determine the actual cause of the death of former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dr Obadiah Mailafia.

Adeyanju demanded this in a statement he signed through the rights group, Concerned Nigerians, CN on Sunday.

According to the human rights activist, the investigation was imperative at this time because the Buhari-administration has been known to silence those who speak against it’s activities.

The statement reads in part, “We call on the Nigerian authorities to ensure that no foul play was involved in the death of Dr. Obadiah Mailafia.

“The Nigerian Civic space is very hostile and dissidents are constantly being targeted by those in government.

“Finally, we call on the authorities to launch an inquest into the death of Dr. Obadiah and we pray almighty God to grant late Human rights activist, eternal repose.”
