The Federal Capital Territory Police Command’s State Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the alleged poisoning of Tourism Minister Lola Ade-John, who has been hospitalized for more than a week.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh.
“The General Investigation Department of the State CID is investigating the matter, and the details of the investigation will be communicated by the FCT Command to the public soon,” Adeh said.
Chronicle NG reports that Ade-John, 60, who was appointed as a minister by President Bola Tinubu in August and touted as one of the few cabinet members appointed from outside the political beltway, has been hospitalized in Abuja after allegedly suffering acute poisoning from an unknown origin.
According to family members familiar with the situation, she was brought to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi immediately after showing signs of poisoning.
Though the specifics of what she ingested and how could not be determined immediately, the professional banker and tech investor was on a breathing machine.
