No fewer than four people lost their lives on Monday, while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when a luxury bus rammed into a truck.
Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Public Education Officer for the Ogun State Sector, confirmed the occurrence in Abeokuta.
Okpe reported that the truck did not stop after being hit by the bus while negotiating a bend on the motorway around the ‘Kara’ axis.
The accident included 21 people, 13 men and eight women, she said.
The corpses, she added, were taken to a mortuary in the state’s Sagamu region, while the injured were sent to a nearby hospital.
“The corpses were deposited at a mortuary in Sagamu, Ogun, while the injured were taken to a nearby hospital,” she said.
