Thirteen Imo State House of Assembly lawmakers have defected from their political parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the declaration of Hope Uzodinma as governor by the Supreme Court.
The defections which took place on Tuesday during plenary included members from the Peoples Democratic Party, Action Alliance and All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Some lawmakers that defected from their party to APC include Hon. Arthur Egwim of Ideato North defects from AA to APC.
Hon. Chyna Iwuanyawu(Capacity) of Nwangele defected from PDP to APC and Hon. Chidiebere Ogbunikpa of Okigwe defects from PDP to APC.
Others are Hon. Obinna Okwara of Nkwere of Nkwere defects from AA to APC, Hon. Paul Emeziem of Onuimo defects from APGA to APC and Hon. Ekene Nnodimele of Orsu defects from APGA to APC.
The other three lawmakers that made the switch were Hon. Duru Johnson of Ideato South defects from AA to APC, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Obiefuna of Isu defects from AA to APC and Hon. Okoro Cyracus Heclus of Ohaji defects from PDP to APC.
Other lawmakers are expected to switch to the APC following the sacking of Emeka Ihedioha of PDP by the Supreme Court.
