The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 11 new cases of coronavirus in Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria.
The newly reported cases takes the new total to 373 cases.
The disease control centre had earlier reported 19 new cases on Tuesday evening before reporting another 11.
“Eleven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lagos State,” NCDC said on its official Twitter account.
“As at 11:00 pm 14th April there are 373 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. 99 have been discharged with 11 deaths.
A breakdown of cases by states shows that Lagos has 214, FCT- 58, Osun- 20, Edo- 15, Oyo- 11, Ogun- 9 and Bauchi- 6.
Others states are Kaduna- 6, Akwa Ibom- 6, Katsina-5, Kwara- 4, Kano- 4, Ondo- 3, Delta- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Benue- 1, Niger- 1 and Anambra- 1.
The Lagos State Government had announced the discharge of eight coronavirus patients on Tuesday evening, taking the total discharged in the state to 69.
While making the announcement, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged residents to continue to adhere to all the safety advice from our health experts.
“More great news today from our Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba. Eight more people; two females and six males have tested negative and fully recovered from COVID-19,” he said during an emergency meeting.
“They have been discharged to return to their families.
