    NABTEB releases Nov/Dec 2024 examination results

    The National Business And Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the November/December 2024 National Business Certificate (NBC), National Technical Certificate (NTC) Advanced National Business Certificate(ANBC), and Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC) Examinations.

    The examinations were held in 1,825 centres across the country.

    Briefing newsmen in Benin, NABTEB acting registrar and chief executive officer, Dr. Nnasia Asanga, said the board conducted the examinations successfully nationwide from Thursday, 7 November to Saturday, 7 December 2024.

    He said that 29,880 obtained five credits and above, including English language and mathematics representing 67.56 percent whereas 42,431 candidates scored five credits and above with or without English language and mathematics representing 95.94 percent.

    “Analyses of candidates’ enrollments for the examinations indicate that the total enrollment for O’Level candidates were 44,730 consisting of 25,542 males and 19,188 females who registered for the examinations in 1,825 centres,” he said.

    “Similarly, the total enrollment for A-level candidates were 4,095 consisting of 2,725 males and 1,370 females who registered for the examinations in 571 centres nationwide.

    “Enrolment figures and performance of candidates in the examinations indicate that a total of 44,226 candidates sat for the examinations, representing 98.87 percent of the total enrollment. Out of 40,978 candidates who sat for the various Trades at the Crafts level, 33, 295 candidates representing 81.25 percent were certified as Craftsmen. This is higher than 2023 performance, where 41.16 percent were certified as Craftsmen.

    “At the Advanced level, out of 3,892 candidates who sat for the various Trades at the Master Craftsmen, 2,404 candidates representing 61.77 percent were certified as Master Craftsmen. This also is an improvement over the 2023 performance, where 54.82 percent were certified at Master Crafts level.”

    The NABTEB Acting Registrar noted that the performance on five credits and above, including English language and mathematics, is lower than that of the 2023 November/December results where 28,137 candidates represented 71.27 percent.

    Asanga added that the performance on five credits and above with or without English language and Mathematics in 2024 is slightly higher than in 2023, with 37,476 candidates representing 94.93 percent.

    He noted that in the examination under review, 256 candidates representing 0.53 percent of the total number of candidates who sat for the examinations were involved in examination malpractice.

    Asanga said that NABTEB has started issuing electronic certificates, adding that candidates who took the previous examinations from May/June 2017 to November/December 2022 can obtain their certificates electronically.
