Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has described social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan, as a tool allegedly used by politicians to distract Nigerians.
In a statement on X on Saturday, obviously aimed at the social media critic, Hundeyin described him as a ”shirtless idiot” distracting Nigerians from pertinent issues affecting the country.
Hundeyin’s remark comes amid VeryDarkMan’s claims of losing N180 million to hackers.
Chronicle NG reports that the social media critic revealed that he lost N180 million to hackers who hacked his Non-Governmental Organisation’s website.
Reacting to his claims, Hundeyin stated that claims were an obvious distraction from the alleged establishment of a military base by France in Nigeria.
”The details of a French-sponsored terrorism operation in West Africa using Nigeria as its operational base are currently being exposed to the world, and guess what happens?” Hundeyin stated.
”One shirtless idiot puts on his ring light to start yapping on the internet about NGOs and N160m—and Nigerians eat it up AGAIN! Our people can never spot and strategically ignore an obvious distraction when it is deployed.
”A social engineer’s dream population,” he added.
However, amid claims of losing his organisation’s funds to hackers, the Plateau State Police Command has stated that the command is not investigating the alleged hacking or theft of the organisation’s funds.
In a statement on Saturday, the Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alebo, debunked the claims, saying the case was not reported to the Command.
