Tinubu and FayeNigerians have criticized President Bola Tinubu in stern terms following the visit of the President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, who came on a short visit to Nigeria on Thursday.

His visit was announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser, Information and Strategy.

According to Onanuga’s statement, Faye will return to Dakar on Friday.

Faye was sworn in on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, as Senegal’s youngest president after sweeping to a first-round victory on a pledge of radical reform 10 days after he was released from prison.

The 44-year-old has never before held an elected office, but several African leaders attended the ceremony in the new town of Diamniadio, near the capital Dakar.

Reacting to his visit to Tinubu, Nigerians berated the Nigerian leader for allegedly emerging as president through fraudulent means.

While some lamented that Tinubu should stay away from politics over his age, they also criticized the Nigerian leader for being “old enough to be Faye’s father.”

    Some of the reactions include:

Ifeanyi Akorjoru: “Two different individuals, the Senegalese president, were democratically elected by the Senegalese people. The other one was selected via grab it, snatch it, and run away with it.”

Engr. Ezekiel Edorjor: “Tinubu should be ashamed of himself; this guy is supposed to be Tinubu’s grandson.”

Gregory Sunday: “Drug baron who stole the mandate of Nigerian citizens and someone who was elected by his people in Senegal. Tinubu forfeited $460,000 in Chicago, America.”

Menelik: “In Nigeria, this man is only qualified to be an SSA or PA. If he contests for president, Bayo Onanuga and his party will use tribalism or religion to finish him.”

Patrick: “But how does he feel shaking this guy? Knowing that this guy would never have been president if he ran in Nigeria,? While people like him were around, There is no way conscience will not be gnawing down there.”

Victor Udoh: “He came to speak to your consciences and remind you that instead of behaving like his country, you decided to “snatch it, grab it, and run with it!” Old wicked people!”

Nwike: “A free and fair election brought the latter in while the former was brought in by corrupt judges.”

Chuks Emele: “One won a free and fair vote. The other grabbed, snatched, and ran away with the vote, helped by that accursed Mahmood. The difference is clear.”

Benedict Onowu: “Welcome to Nigeria, great man. We hope your host will learn from your simple government style, but no, he won’t!

“We know one thing for sure: he is going to lie about his achievements, but we are here to speak facts. PBAT is the more delusional person in the corridor of power.”
