Multichoice Nigeria, the organisers of the reality show Big Brother Naija, announced a temporary transmission suspension on Friday evening due to a power outage.
In a public statement posted on its Instagram account, Multichoice assured viewers that the housemates were safe as technical professionals worked to restore normal service.
“We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue.
“Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound.
“Our technical team is working swiftly to restore power and normal service. Thank you for your patience,” the statement read.
The organizers added a lighthearted message, encouraging spectators to “grab a snack, stretch your legs,” and promised that “premium entertainment” would continue soon.
The current season marks the tenth installment of the immensely popular reality TV show.
The 10th edition commenced on Saturday, July 26, with the housemates vying for the grand prize of N150 million.
