Ngozi Okobi, the Super Falcons midfielder, has announced the birth of her child.
The former Elskiltun of Sweden midfielder took to social media on Tuesday to announce the arrival of her baby.
“Congratulations to me. #godbepraised #iamamother #newmom. I am in my new season #NSPPD,” she wrote with photos of her baby bump.
Prior to her revelation on Tuesday, the footballer had kept her pregnancy private on social media, only sharing videos of gym workouts and other casual photos.
Okobi married her husband Okeoghene on December 9, 2017, in Delta State, and the midfielder played for nearly seven years prior to the birth of their child.
Okobi represented Nigeria in the 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2010 WAFCON, the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022 WAFCON tournaments, as well as the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups.
However, former coach Randy Waldrum removed her from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, and she has not appeared for the national team since.
