Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has married Chioma Rowland in a lavish traditional wedding held on Tuesday.
Davido, in several posts on social media, announced his wedding to Chioma, his longtime lover.
The colourful event, which was held in Lagos State, had several celebrities in attendance.
The couple lost their first child, Ifeanyi, tragically in 2022. They then welcomed twins last year. Shortly after the incident, the pair got engaged.
The wedding, which has set social media agog, has attracted well wishes from Nigerians.
In a statement on X on Tuesday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election, congratulated the couple and wished them marital bliss.
Obi wrote, “On behalf of my family, I most sincerely congratulate Davido and Chioma today as they begin their matrimonial journey with their traditional marriage ceremony. #CHIVIDO2024”
The former governor of Anambra State added, “May God Almighty, who has brought them together this far, continue to guide, bless, and prosper their union, and may their love for each other be the foundation on which they build their lives together. Amen! “
