Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been mum over the kidnapping menace that has gripped the administrative capital of Nigeria.

Kidnappers’ free reign has apparently continued in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as four out of the 10 persons kidnapped in Kubwa/Dutse area of the territory have been found killed and dumped at Ida, near Ushafa in Bwari Area Council.

'no gree for terrorists' in 2024, DHQ charges Nigerians

Among the bodies were those of a secondary school student and daughter of the Ekiti State-born Chief Legal Officer of the National University Commission (NUC), Folorunsho Ariyo, and a 400-level student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nabeeeha Al-kadriyar.

Miss Ariyo was abducted along with her mother and three siblings two Sundays ago, while Nabeeeha Al-kadriyar was seized with her father and five of her female siblings last Tuesday in the same axis.

The FCT minister left residents to their fate in the face of Abuja insecurity as kidnappers held victims to ransom and killed at will.

Chronicle NG revealed that the FCT minister left his place of primary duty to meddle in Rivers politics.

Morris Monye wrote, “Wike is too busy fighting for political survival in Rivers State that FCT doesn’t concern him. The sanctity of the FCT is falling apart.

Malachy Odo said, “Nothing concerns Wike with happenings in FCT. Just strategize from Monday to Friday on how to grab juicy properties in Abuja, then relocate to PH on Friday evening for politics. My man”

Tahir Abubakar wrote, “The security of Rivers State is more important to Ribadu than the security of the whole Northern region; he was more into the matter of Wike’s political interests than the current situation we found ourselves.”

Black Sizzle said, “God forgive me, but somehow my spirit won’t allow me to donate money to a crowdfund that will only end up being handed over to kidnappers.” I’d rather protest in front of Wike and the Inspector General of Police Office to do something.”

“Tinubu and Wike should be held responsible for the killing and kidnapping in the FCT, Mindset Post opined.”
