    The 22-year serving President of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, has congratulated the President-elect, Adama Barrow, who had an astonishing victory in the just concluded election on Friday.

    Barrow’s emergence has put an end to the long-term rule of Jammeh. The tiny West African country, with about 1.7 million population experienced a free and fair election.

    Jammeh, in his congratulatory phone call assured that Barrow of a smooth transmission process. He also stressed that his loss was the will of Allah.

    “I am calling to wish you all the best. The Gambian people have spoken… Convey, my entire congratulation to your entire team.” He said

    He added that “I have no reason to contest the will of the Almighty Allah.”
