National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have expressed their displeasure over the non-payment of January allowance to carter for their needs.
Chronicle NG reports on how Nigerians reacted to the trend.
Ajebo Danny was dissatisfied with “companies and institutions that pay National Youth Service Corps members peanuts are also as wicked as the government. Some don’t even pay corp members at all, and you’re complaining of bad government; you’re a wicked person, and your business will crumble.”
He added, “Corps members are not slaves! Scrap the irrelevance called National Youth Service Corps if you won’t pay people well. You cannot make the lives of Nigerians harder and not do something to cushion the effect. The minimum wage or allowance should have a percentage increase; people are going through hell in the country.
King Fahard and Iyali Sulaiman reflected in pidgin. The latter said, “It’s February already, and NYSC never pay my $23. Ogun kill our heroes, past and present.
The former said, “If you calculate all this spending, na me dey pay NYSC.”
Abass asked “those of you that have finished National Youth Service Corps. How did you survive with 33k monthly salary?
