Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale, made a surprise working visit today to the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) at its Bolade, Oshodi, Safety Arena office.
The visit according to Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, Head of Press and Public Affairs, was met with commendations and expressions of support for the taskforce’s critical role in maintaining law and order across the state.
During the visit, CP Ishola addressed the Chairman of the agency, CSP Akerele Adetayo, as well as senior police officers and management staff. In his remarks, he lauded the taskforce for its unwavering commitment to safety and security in Lagos.
“The taskforce is a key player in our collective efforts to strengthen the safety and security of Lagosians and sustain public order in the state,” he said.
CP Ishola also emphasized the importance of health and wellness for law enforcement officers. “I urge all officers to regularly undergo medical check-ups, as maintaining sound physical and medical health is essential for optimal performance,” he added.
In response, CSP Akerele expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s visit, describing it as a historic moment for the agency.
“The positive appraisal from CP Ishola will serve as motivation for the Taskforce team to further enhance our commitment and service delivery, in line with the laws governing our operations,” he stated.
As a gesture of appreciation, CSP Akerele presented a commemorative plaque to CP Ishola, symbolizing the growing camaraderie and synergy between the taskforce and other relevant agencies.
The visit is expected to bolster the agency’s morale and reinforce its role in the ongoing efforts to secure public peace in Lagos State.
