Kai Havertz has joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea in a £65 million deal on a five-year deal days after agreeing personal terms.

The 24-year-old becomes Arsenal’s first summer signing with the Gunners still interested in West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal’s first summer signing is the German forward, with the Gunners also interested in West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, for whom they had a £105 million bid accepted on Wednesday, and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

Kai Havertz has signed a long-term contract at the Emirates, ending his three-year stay at Chelsea.

He earned his place in Blues history by scoring the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final.

Chelsea signed Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for £75 million, but they were hoping to return a significant amount of their investment after a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge.
