    Football lovers across the nation can be assured of another football feast this weekend as the Nigerian Professional Football League enters its week 17 stage.

    In Umuahia seventh placed Abia Warriors welcomes ninth placed ABS of Ilorin at the township stadium.

    Shooting stars will travel to Uyo where they will be entertained by twelfth placed Akwa United at the 30,000 capacity nest of Champions.

    It will be an all northern affair as Elkanemi line up against fourth placed neighbours Kano Pillars.

    In Calabar,Rangers coach Imama Amakpakabo will be hoping to end a string of dissapointing results when his bottom placed league champions file out against eight placed Eyimba who have sort of made their new abode a fortress.

    At the Patanami stadium in Gombe, Gombe United will lock horns with visiting Rivers United while Sunshine Stars of Akure travel to Nnewi to do battle with FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

    Table toppers MFM of Lagos will be on the bus to Lokoja where they take on tenth placed Nassarawa United and Niger Tornadoes welcome Lobi stars in another northern derby at the Bako Kontagora stadium in Minna.

    At the Rwang Pam stadium in Jos,Second placed Plateau United will entertain Visiting Wikki Tourist of Bauchi with the home side hoping a win returns them to the league summit.
