Nigerians have taken to social media to condole popular Singer and entertainer, Dbanj and wife Lineo Didi after they lost their son, Daniel Oyebanjo III.
Daniel drowned inside a swimming pool inside his father’s residence at Ikoyi, Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria. He only turned one last month.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo led the way when he wrote on his Twitter page. “My heart and prayers are with Dapo and his family. No parent should ever have to bury a child. As a parent, it’s the worst thing imaginable. May God give you the fortitude to bear the loss, Dbanj,” the two-time leader wrote.

Kenna also had kind words for Dbanj and his wife at this trying time. “Thoughts and prayers are with the hommie Dbanj at this time. Only God can give true healing at this difficult time.
Known as Iyalaje of Lagos on Twitter, Newscatell wrote, “Sending prayers to Dbanj and his entire family. Big nightmare. He was just a year old😫. May God comfort his family. Sending prayers to every family involved in plateau state massacre. Absolutely terrible times.
Favour Onyeoziri also shared in Dbanj’s pain. “Woke up to the heartbreaking news of Dbanj losing his 1-yr old Son. Burying a parent is sad, but the pain of burying a child is unfathomable. May God grant Him & his Wife Didi the fortitude to bear this immeasurable loss. 😢
Popular DJ, Jimmy Jatt was so shattered he couldn’t write much. “Stay strong dbanj,” he tweeted on his minutes after the news broke on social media.

GidiTraffic was in on it too. “It’s so sad that Dbanj lost his son. That pain is not something any parent wants to go through. May God be with him and his wife 💔💔 ”
But not everyone was condoling with the singer as they felt he should not have a pool inside his home.

Bhadmus Hakeem, a digital media expert was having none of it. “It’s a fact that many of these social media users come from sad home, but please stay away from Dbanj and his wife during this trying time. How can you be so stupid to be mocking a parent over the loss of their child? I feel heartbroken to have read comments on Instablog today 💔,” he tweeted.
Dbanj, is a Nigerian musician, singer-songwriter, entrepreneur and television personality. He has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards
He adopted the stage name D’banj, a combination of his first name, Dapo, and his surname, Oyebanjo. D’banj is best known internationally for his 2012 summer hit “Oliver Twist”, an uptempo dance fusion of Afrobeat and electronic dance music that topped the African charts 2011 and was a top 10 hit in the UK singles chart in 2012 reaching No. 2 on the UK R&B chart. As of 2016, D’banj is ranked to be the richest solo musician in Nigeria according to T.I.N Magazine.
