The singer suffered from memory loss and refused to go to a psychiatric facility out of shame, according to the sister of Mohbad’s wife.
Chronicle NG reported that Mohbad, 27, passed on Tuesday, November 12.
During an interview on Instagram, she disclosed this to Daddy Freeze, a well-known media figure and OAP.
She described how the musician had been experiencing memory loss and was supposed to visit the Aro Psychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta.
She claimed that he had been embarrassed to visit the hospital because he didn’t want to be seen in a mental facility by Nigerians due to the negative impact that would have on their perception of him.
The sister claimed that she suggested he travel to the United States of America so that she would take him to a facility where he would receive treatment and stay out of the spotlight, but Mohbad never responded to her.
The next time he called her, he explained that he was already recovering from the illness.
