Veteran journalist and former presidential aide, Laolu Akande, has started a new show on Channels TV named Inside Sources.

The show which will air at 9:00 am every Friday starting December 22, 2023, is hinged on empowering the Nigerian people with accurate, diligent information about government workings, public policies and its impact.

Inside Sources will provide viewers with a platform to consume an authoritative and knowledgeable perspective on national and global issues.

“The idea behind the programme is to bring to the fore a kind of information that will be useful for the public interest,” Akande told Channels TV Sunrise Daily on Thursday.

Adding, “You have the saying that information is power. One of the most significant things that came out in terms of communication and narrative in the last presidential election was when the now-president said power is not served a la carte.

“He went all out and did a diligent job. The same thing, to the power that we say is for the people, there has to be diligence in how it is also presented and procured.

Akande noted, “We need to give information to the people, otherwise the people will not have the power. Inside Sources will give people information that will make people powerful and ultimately serve the public interest better.”

Akande who has over three decades of experience as a journalist, rising to become an editor of a national newspaper in 1997, he also has eight years of experience serving Nigeria as the spokesperson to former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
