Hollywood actor Tyrese Gibson has been taken into custody after he failed to pay the monthly $10,000 child support payments a judge ordered him to make to his ex, Samantha Lee.
Gibson, who shares five-year-old daughter Soraya with Lee, was held in contempt of court Monday morning during a hearing over the issue.
Judge Kevin Farmer was dissatisfied with his unwillingness to make the monthly $10,000 child support payments that he was ordered to make beginning in April 2023.
Farmer held Gibson in contempt of court on Monday. The bailiff then handcuffed the ‘Fast & Furious’ actor and took him out of the courthouse.
The judge offered the actor the opportunity to settle the case and escape jail time, provided he paid $73,000. Samantha’s attorney fees total $7,500.
Gibson had made payments to Lee. However, it has not been the $10,000 that the judge ordered him to start making last year.
The Hollywood star has been paying his ex around $2,200 every month as of 2023.
Insiders claim the actor is currently in the process of sorting out the $73K payment.
