A coroner inquest into the death of late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, will commence on Friday, September 29, at the Ikorodu Magistrate Court in Lagos.
Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi, the Coroner, revealed this in a letter dated September 26th and addressed to the law firm of Falana & Falana Chambers.
The Law firm had earlier requested the inquest in a letter dated September 18th, 2023 and addressed to the Chief Coroner of the High Court of Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada, to unravel the circumstances surrounding the late Mohbad’s “very tragic” death under “mysterious” circumstances.
In response to the firm’s letter, the investigator stated that she had received instructions from the Hon. Justice Mojisola Dada, to convene an inquest in accordance with Sections 14 and 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law, Cap C15, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The late Afrobeats singer from Ikorodu died on September 12 at the age of 27.
