    EFCC arrests six internet fraudsters in Akwa Ibom

    THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Command, in Akwa Ibom State, announced the arrest of six suspected internet fraudsters on Monday.

    Udenze Benjamin, Godwin Atike, Emmanuel Francis, Adebe Oluwademilade, Anietie Brownson, and Sabastin Obioma are among the suspects.

    This was revealed in a statement signed by the EFCC’s acting head of media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, and acquired by newsmen in Uyo on Sunday.

    Following intelligence, the suspects were apprehended along the Calabar-Itu route in the Itu Local Government Area of the State on Thursday, October 5, 2023, during an early morning sting operation.

    The statement stated that among of the things recovered from the suspects included phones and laptops, and that they (the suspects) would be charged in court at the conclusion of the inquiry.

    “Operatives of the EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters along Calabar-Itu road in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State following intelligence.

    “Some items recovered from them include phones and laptops. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”, the statement reads.
