A female student at Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has reportedly committed suicide after repeatedly failing a course.

The yet-to-be-identified student reportedly ended her life after repeatedly failing the course of Dr. Enyi, a lecturer in her department.

The mother of the deceased stormed the school premises with the corpse of her late daughter, demanding the school authorities take hold of the corpse and bury her.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the crying mother was seen wailing on the premises of the school with her daughter’s corpse in her Siena car.

Sorrowfully, the bereaved woman wailed, “It’s Dr. Enyi. Dr. Enyi should come and carry O. Ebonyi State University, you people should come and bury me. I don’t even have money for a burial. The thing my daughter suffered for. You people should come and carry it; I am living it for you people.”

In a series of voice notes on WhatsApp, the deceased student was heard saying, amid tears, “I’m tired of this school. I don’t understand. Is it because I am not from Abakiliki, or is it because I’m not an indigene?

“God, what’s the meaning of this? Why will Dr. Enyi fail me? After attending classes, Why will only one person keep failing me out of so many lecturers?

“I don’t even know my grade. From year one until today. How will you be the only one to fail me? I only have a second semester to write your course.

“Me, I’m tired. I’ll leave this certificate for you.”

At the time of filing this report, Ebonyi State University (EBSU) had yet to comment on the incident.
