The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, has dismissed four lecturers on account of examination misconduct and sexual misconduct.
Chronicle NG gathered that the governing council gave the approval at its second council meeting on Thursday.
This comes on the heels of an investigation into charges of examination misconduct and sexual harassment levied against academics last year.
The council, led by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, commended university management for following due process in the probe into claims of examination misconduct and sexual harassment against academics.
Ndoma-Egba stated, “The council will not tolerate any unethical conduct in the university” and encouraged the university to expedite the remaining instances of misconduct, particularly the one in the Faculty of Science that is now trending in the media.
While cautioning staff and lecturers of the university in Kogi state against any type of student molestation, the council stated that no wrongdoing would be tolerated.
It also reminded pupils to always speak up when they are molested.
