    Nigeria announces 601 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 601 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

    The 601 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 51,905.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 882 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 404 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 17764.

    • Nigeria announces 340 new coronavirus cases

    Federal Capital Territory 37 new cases, Oyo recorded 19 new cases while Ondo, Abia and Enugu recorded 14, 13 and 13 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Kaduna-13, Edo-12, Kano-12, Kwara-11, Ebonyi-10, Nasarawa-7, Ogun-6, Osun-5, Delta-5, Niger-5, Plateau-4, Bayelsa-4, Katsina-3, Ekiti-2 and Imo-2.

    NCDC reports that there are 51,905 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 38,767 discharged and 997 deaths.
