Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade, chairman Agbado/Oke Odo LCDA has felicitated with the people of Agbado/Okeodo, the residents of Lagos and all Nigerians as they celebrate Easter.
Arogundade stated that Easter is known as the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his sacrifice to redeem mankind from sins.
“The sacrifice should remind us of the need to reflect on our sins and turn a new leaf,” he said, adding that we should love one another as Jesus Christ preached and that it should be the cornerstone of our lives to forgive and respect our parents and elders.
“As we celebrate this year’s Easter, may we celebrate many more years in abundant joy, prosperity, happiness and peace.”
“May the good Lord heal those who are sick from the coronavirus,” he prayed, as he wished everyone a Happy Easter.
“I also use this medium to sympathize with all of you for the hardship caused by coronavirus. I know how hard it is to stay at home without money or food, particularly those who depend on daily jobs to feed.
He noted that the state government was working hard to ease the burden. “Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been trying to alleviate your suffering by providing relief materials in terms of food stuffs and money through the local governments and LCDAs.
He added that, “The stay at home order is to save us from the transmission that is going on in our community.
“May the good Lord save us from the coronavirus. I enjoin everybody to spend this Easter in prayers and to follow the directives of government so that we can all come out of this problem in a short time.
“I urge you all to be security conscious during this trying period by alerting the security agencies when there is any threat. Also, keep away from anything that could cause fire in the home,” he said.
