The statement reads, “FRSC operatives from Mowe Unit Command carried out a rescue operation on the Ibadan-Lagos road around Kara Turning (Towards Interchange).
“The crash, which occurred at about 0500 hours in the early hours of Tuesday morning, involved two vehicles, with details as follows:
“A total of 18 male adults were involved. Seven male adults were injured, while 10 male adults were recorded dead from the crash. The suspected cause of the fatal crash was excessive speed, which led to a loss of control as the bus rammed into the tipper that was about to negotiate the turn.
“The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, was pained over the fatal crash that could have been avoided if necessary caution had been put in place.
“He also emphasized that drivers should endeavour to take a 15-minute rest for every four hours of driving because fatigue has been a major cause of road traffic accidents.”
