Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor, has bemoaned that President Bola Tinubu is putting Nigerians through a tough and frightening era in the country’s history as petrol prices skyrocket and the naira continues to plummet.
According to her, “We are going through a period now in our country that is very, very trying. It is very scary. As one of the pastors has said, even the wealthy are afraid. How much more do the people that don’t have?”
The First Lady lamented that despite the hike in the pump price of fuel as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy as announced by Tinubu at his inauguration, the price is still likely to increase.
“We all know how much we were buying gasoline three or four months ago. We all know how much petrol there is today, and we also know that it is not even steady yet.
“It may still be going up, and we know that once the cost of fuel goes up, it affects every aspect of our lives; the cost of food goes up, the cost of everything goes up,” Mrs. Abiodun added.
Worried about the free fall of the naira, under Tinubu’s watch, Mrs. Abiodun urged Nigerians to rely on God for survival.
