The Vice-President, Prof.Yemi Osinbajo is currently chairing a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Some state governors and ministers are present at the session, the first after the inauguration of the new government and the inauguration of fresh ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
Findings indicate that the National Livestock Transformation Plan is a likely item on the agenda.
You would recall that the Ministry of Agriculture had earlier started a version of the plan, otherwise called ‘Ruga’, but was suspended on July 2 on the orders of Buhari.

The government’s latest position on the controversial Ruga is that the new Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (Mr Sabo Nanono), will set up a review committee to reconcile all the issues surrounding the implementation of the programme.
The committee will draw membership from the Federal Executive Council, the NEC, and the Governors’ Forum.
At the meeting were Governor, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed.
