Telecom giant, Globacom, announced the launch of its innovative youth-centric product, My-G, along with a nationwide entertainment tour aimed at showcasing the product’s benefits to young Nigerians.

In a press conference, held on Thursday in Lagos, the company unveiled My-G as an affordable data solution that enhances connectivity and access to entertainment platforms, tailored to the interests and online needs of Nigeria’s youth.

The My-G package offers specialized data bundles, allowing young people to access popular social media platforms and streaming services at economical rates. Director of Creativity at Globacom, Mr. Chuka Obi, explained that the offering is designed to prioritize youth needs in terms of affordability and ease of use.

“My-G offers unique data bundles that let customers access their favorite entertainment sites, social media platforms, and streaming services at affordable rates,” said Obi. “With My-G, Glo customers can enjoy WhatsApp, TikTok, Snapchat, BoomPlay, Audiomack, Instagram, and GloTV without worrying about data cost. It’s awesome, and customers can enjoy the best data deals without emptying their pockets just to have fun.”

Obi further noted that Globacom is set to bring the My-G experience directly to young Nigerians across the country through an experiential, multi-city tour, allowing them to engage with the brand and enjoy a lineup of entertainment.

“This tour is about connecting with young people on their own terms. We’ll be going from city to city, sharing the My-G experience and, of course, the entertainment,” Obi added. “The pass to enjoy this will surely be their uptake of My-G data bundles.”

Youth leaders in attendance welcomed the announcement with enthusiasm, commending Globacom for its focus on empowering young people with affordable data options.

Morakinyo Olaolu, President of the Students Union Government (SUG) at Yaba College of Technology, expressed his excitement about the new offering. “This is a great initiative for youth development. We thank Glo for creating My-G, which truly represents us, the youth.”

Adebobola Ayomide, SUG President of Lagos State University, echoed these sentiments. “My-G will help the youth stay more active online. It’s going to be beneficial both for our academic and social activities. We’re thrilled with the plan and hope Glo will also bring additional packages that improve student life on campus.”

Also speaking, Adekanye Ibukunoluwa, a representative from the University of Lagos SUG, appreciated the company’s efforts to address the needs of Nigerian students. “Thanks to Glo for considering the youth. Online platforms are where we do most of our academic work, and My-G will make it easier with affordable data. We’re looking forward to seeing Glo bring more activities to campus.”

In addition to launching My-G, Globacom announced the reintroduction of its Berekete plan, rebranded as Berekete 10X, which provides customers with ten times the value of every recharge, as well as double data benefits and special call discounts. The company also highlighted the Glo Café app, which serves as a digital hub for all Glo products and services.

Glo Café, available for download on the Google App Store, offers exclusive data bundles, self-service options for data purchasing, and a bonus 100GB data package, including 75GB immediately and an additional 5GB per month for five months.

“We’re committed to giving our customers more value and convenience,” said Obi, highlighting the app’s exclusive data bonuses and user-friendly services like data sharing, balance checks, and access to NIN details.

With the introduction of My-G, Globacom aims to connect Nigeria’s youth with a product that aligns with their passion for social connectivity, affordable data, and entertainment. The upcoming tour is set to highlight the brand’s commitment to meeting the needs of Nigeria’s growing youth population.
