Barcelona’s Champions League trip to Royal Antwerp ended in a shocking defeat as the Catalan giants were humiliated by the Belgian side.
Barcelona, who needed a win to finish at the top of the group, suffered a 3-2 defeat at Antwerp.

However, a goal from F. Torres in the 35th minute ended Antwerp’s early lead, ending the first half on par.
Despite Barcelona enjoying 70% of possession and completing 672 passes, it was the home side that found the back of the net in the 56th minute thanks to a Janssen goal.
With both sides enjoying 11 shots each and the La Liga champions having a meager three shots on target, M. Guiu converted for Xavi Hernandez’s side in the first minute of added time to restore parity between both sides.
However, a swift reaction from Antwerp in the second minute of added time gave the home side their first win of the Champions League thanks to a goal from G. Ilenikhena.
Despite winning today’s match, Antwerp finished bottom of the table with 3 points after losing all five of their previous Champions League matches.
