Forty-seven suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. This was announced by the EFCC via a statement on the commission’s official Twitter page. According to the EFCC, “the suspects were arrested on June 23, 2023, at Ikere Road and Iworoko areas of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State following intelligence on their alleged cyber fraud activities in the State”. The Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offenses (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce), CSP Shola Jejeloye, has said that the Agency will do all it takes to ensure that environmental degraders scattered across various parts of the State are either brought to book or made to leave the State. The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has denied renouncing his Nigerian citizenship. Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed two men in the Ubeta-Owube axis of Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
