No fewer than seven people have been killed by bandits in Yongia Uambie Tiev, Ukembrergya/Tswarev ward, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. Anawah Joseph, a community leader, said the incident occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday. Anawah claimed that the bandits, who were armed with modern weaponry, came in large numbers to attack the village. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered that Bello Bodejo, leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group, be kept in DIA custody. The remand order was issued following his Friday arraignment by Justice Inyang Ekwo. Bodejo was detained on January 23 at the Miyetti Allah headquarters in Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, for revealing the existence of a vigilante organisation. No fewer than four suspects have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for staging a kidnapping. Two female students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, have reportedly died following a stampede that occurred at the university’s convocation square on Friday. The Nasarawa State Government distributed palliatives to students at the convocation square. According to a university source, the two female students were confirmed dead as a result of the stampede, which injured others to varying degrees. “What we are hearing now is that two female students have died. Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has agreed to settle a breach of contract case launched against him by the Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited outside of court. It was reported in October 2023 that Pinnick, a former head of the Nigeria Football Federation, chastised Davido for failing to satisfy his performance responsibilities at an event despite receiving $94,600. The Lagos State Magistrates Court sitting in Oshodi has convicted hoodlums extorting traders and other users of the pedestrian bridge across the state.  Magistrate Oshikoya found the suspects guilty of breach of public peace and illegal collection of money from people with goods and sentenced the defendants to 1 month in prison.
