A fight erupted in Turkey’s parliament on Friday as members of parliament debated the fate of a detained opposition lawmaker who was controversially stripped of parliamentary immunity earlier this year.  The legislators met after the country’s constitutional court overturned parliament’s decision to remove Can Atalay from his parliamentary seat earlier this month. Angry youths in Niger State have brutally killed an immigration officer, Isah Mohammed, following a land dispute between two communities. The Immigration officer, a Doko indigene from the Zhitsu Babi area, was killed on his field during a conflict between the Doko and Kupafu populations in Niger’s Lavun Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Wednesday, when the victim went to his property and was allegedly attacked by some hoodlums believed to be from the other village over the land issue. The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the suspect accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in the Alakuko area of the state.  This was confirmed by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency on Friday. In a statement posted on X on Friday, the agency said it is working with the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the incident. A fire broke out early today, Friday, inside a seven-story structure on Sanni Adewale Street in the Lagos Island Local Government Area. Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed this in a statement published on X. A recent battle between farmers and herders in Adamawa State’s Kodomun Community in Demsa Local Government Area has claimed eight lives and injured many more. Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event, adding a combined security force had been rushed to the area to restore order, but no arrests had been made thus far.
