Average price of 5kg cooking gas increased from N4,397.68 in July to N4,456.56 in August. The assertion was made by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in its Cooking Gas Price Watch issued on Tuesday in Abuja. The Abia Police Command has arrested 10 members of a dare-devil armed robbery gang that allegedly robbed a bullion van on July 26 and carted away about N390 million. The Commissioner of Police, Janet Agbede, said that the suspects belonged to a 14-member gang that specialised in bullion van robbery in different parts of the country. University students protesting the seven-month industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Monday morning blocked a section of the access road to the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos. Uber investigating hack on its computer systems. The ride-hailing company said it was investigating after several internal communications and engineering systems had been compromised. The New York Times first reported the breach after the hacker sent images of email, cloud storage and code repositories to the newspaper. The hike in cooking gas, fuel prices is in the bid to cut subsidies. Tunisia said on Saturday it is raising the price of cooking gas cylinders by 14% and fuel by 3% as part of a plan to reduce energy subsidies, a policy change wanted by the country’s international lenders. The Energy Ministry said the cooking gas price will increase to 8.800 dinars from 7.750 dinars, in the first raise in 12 years.
