Nigerian filmmaker, Kachi Benson has won an award of best ‘virtual reality story’ at the 76th Venice International Film Festival with his short film  ‘Daughters of Chibok’ The film narrates the story of April 2014, abduction of 276 female students from Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria. Following government negotiations with the terrorists, 107 of them were eventually released. But 112 remain missing. A former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, who is currently on a self-exile, said he contemplated suicide due to alleged persecution he was subjected to after he left office in 2015. Adoke also listed Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu; and Senator Ali Ndume as some of those behind his current ordeals and persecution. The Eze Igbo of Zamfara, Chief Egbuna Obijiaku, on Saturday commended Governor Bello Matawalle for tackling the security challenges in the state. The Taliban on Sunday warned that more American lives would be lost if President Donald Trump canceled peace talks with them, but said they remained open to continuing with the talks. At least 115 Police Mobile Force (PMF) operatives across the country have been disbanded as part of an ongoing reorganisation in Nigeria Police Force. The affected policemen comprised 37 Inspectors, 67 Sergeants and 11 Corporals were asked to leave the PMF with immediate effect. TheNation gathered that a signal signed by the Commissioner of Police (CP) PMF Lawal Jimeta dated September 3 asked all the unit commanders where the affected cops were serving to warn them before sending them out to their new places of assignment. The governors of Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States have jointly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Governor of Maradi region in Niger Republic on best approaches to addressing the security challenges in their states.
