Rochas Okorocha of Imo wanted his son in-law to replace him as governor

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has vacated a forfeiture order secured by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on some properties belonging to former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and some members of his family. The anti-graft agency had early this month obtained the court’s orders for the interim forfeiture of assets traced to the former governor, his wife, Nneoma Nkechi and their daughter. The University of Lagos has announced the death of one of its workers, Mr Sunday Meshioye, aged 36. In a statement issued on Friday night in Lagos, the university said the late Meshioye took his life, by ingesting a pesticide suspected to be sniper. An 18-carat solid gold toilet has been stolen in a burglary overnight at Blenheim Palace. A gang broke into the Oxfordshire palace at about 04:50 BST and stole the artwork, Thames Valley Police said. The working toilet – entitled America, which visitors had been invited to use – has not been found but a 66-year-old man has been arrested. The burglary caused “significant damage and flooding” because the toilet was plumbed into the building, police said. Bandits have attacked a hamlet and killed six persons on Saturday in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The attack occured at Fadaman Rimi hamlet a remote settlement near Udawa village in the local government area.
