President Mohammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved the re-appointment of Mr. Segun Adeyemi and Mr. Williams Adeleye as his Special Assistants (Media) attached to the Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed. Their appointment letters, which were signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, said the appointment took effect from 6th September 2019. President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) as currently constituted with Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla as Chairman. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has been directed to immediately take over all outstanding investigations and other activities of the SPIP. The panel was established in August 2017 by the then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN to investigate specifically mandated cases of corruption, abuse of office and similar offences by public officers. The Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) has called on Nigerians to appeal to the Federal Government to implement the new minimum wage with adequate consequential adjustments to avoid the looming industrial crisis. South African authorities have granted landing permit to Air Peace Flight B777 to enable it to evacuate some 320 Nigerians escaping from xenophobia in that country, a Nigerian consular officer has confirmed.
